When to use versus Symphony Shades
Vertical blinds are best on sliding glass doors, or other large window expanses where the glass moves to the side. Verticals are good for gradual light control or directional privacy, moving from side to side.
Verticals go from relatively inexpensive where you will
get an unattractive plastic covering and be beleaguered with repairs from cheap hardware, to quite expensive fabrics on quality hardware. A good vertical track can last a long time but this is the exception, and repairs on verticals can be quite expensive. You want to be sure that your vertical is out of the wind when the window is open as that is the most common reason for failure.
The drawback with verticals is that the vanes are always in the way of getting damaged and they are not
good insulation for that cold window. They tend to be difficult to decorate around, yet the aesthetic statement they make can be rather weak. |
