Our double cell fabric is made of the best stuff we can find: bonded polyester by industry leader Comfortex. Double cell fabric is used to make our highest insulating shades. It insulates so well that the shades pay for themselves within around five years! High-quality double cell fabric is comprised of 3/8" honeycombs in two rows. The cells trap air and act as a blanket for your window.

These honeycomb shades are available in both light-filtering and blackout fabrics for optimal light control. Our fabric comes in a wide variety of colors so your shades are a good fit in any room of the house. Double cell fabric is available in all lift types, except double cell blackout cannot be combined with cordless shades. 

What is the main difference between the double cell and single-cell shades?

As its name states, a single cell shade has one row, or layer, of cells that stack on top of each other. A double cell shade has intertwined, slightly offset rows of cells. This provides two layers of cells. One layer of cells is closer to the room, and the other layer of cells is closer to the window.
