We can be pretty “bland” when we want to be: white walls, beige carpets, undressed windows. So how about bringing into your home a bit of the outside or the season?!
Although it’s only a week-plus into September, here in Vermont we’ve seen the leaves on sometrees begin to turn. (Oh, no! winter can’t be far behind, can it??)
But what beautiful jewel tones can be seen at this season (my personal favorite…): Yellows, brassy and golden. Oranges and Reds, fiery and subtle. The mellow Browns of the leaves curled but not yet dropped. Or the vibrant Greens of the thriving bough.
My challenge to you today is to bring a little COLOR into your life!
The home of a former colleague had the most unusual (for Vermont!) paint color in her kitchen: a burnt orange of such a hue that you could feel the sun warming the room (though did the kitchen have windows? quite possibly not). Why this choice of paint color? She was a Spanish teacher and had spent summers in the south of Spain. Can you imagine? Always feeling, even in the dead of winter, as if you stood on the sunny shores ofEspaña! Ahhh…
So, one way to bring a bit of color into your life is to think about the windows on the world that you have in your home and on your cellular shades!
