Did you know: Our Symphony line of Light Filtering Cellular Shade material is immersible! That’s just one of the advantages you have with our Bonded Polyester cell shade fabric versus the spun lace variety found in most box stores.
Our non-woven fabrics are inherently anti-static and repel dust; all they require is a periodic vacuum with the upholstery attachment, or even just a feather-dusting! This will keep the fabric clean and bright.
Spills and stain can be lightly blotted with a cloth or damp sponge — though many people swear by our Stain Resistant series of cell shade fabric, StainAway, especially for kitchen applications.
More difficult stains may require soaking in warm water with mild soap. For this, remove the shade from the window; the tub is often the most convenient place to let it soak.
ONE WORD OF WARNING: Do NOT submerge a CORDLESS head rail in water!!!
Remove the shade from the water. While still damp, lay the shade FLAT to dry or place it back in the window and raise tightly to “recrisp” pleats.
If you insist on using stronger cleaners, please TEST in an unobtrusive portion of the shade before using!
If all else fails, or if you prefer, shade specialists offer ULTRA-SONIC cleaning.
**BLACKOUT fabrics should never be submerged – this method of cleaning is for LIGHT FILTERING fabrics only**
For BLACKOUT fabrics: As with the Light Filtering, dusting or vacuuming is generally all that is required to keep the fabric clean and bright. To spot clean, use a cloth or sponge dipped in a light solution of lukewarm water and clear dish detergent. LIGHTLY DAB — DO NOT SCRUB THE SURFACE. Rinse thoroughly. Complete immersion of Blackout material is NOT recommended.
